| The upper images were taken at 15:00h on
14.08.04 using 114mm reflector (Baader foil solar filter)
with 32mm + 2x Barlow or 15mm Plossl + 2x Barlow and
afocal Nikon Coolpix 5700.
Contrast enhanced with Adobe Photoshop. The lower image was taken at 18:00h using a special adapter to attach the camera to the 32mm Plossl + 2x Barlow eyepiece combination. This allowed me to use the full optical zoom (4x) and adjust the focus with the telescope eyepiece rack and pinion. I am now looking forward to using this technique to image the Moon and planets such as Jupiter and Saturn in the latter part of the year. |
