Here are two images of a crescent New Moon on
Sunday 13 March 2005.
-
The image is a mosaic of five separate images taken
with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera attached afocally to a 32mm
Plossl eyepiece on my 114mm reflector telescope. Settings were: ISO
200, 0.125sec, f/4.2, fl=full optical zoom. The images were layered,
blended and processed using Adobe Photoshop CS.
-
The most noticeable feature is Mare Crisium but
several main craters with their mountains, rills, and layered features
are also evident.
